The business of change

As Hairstylists we are certainly in the business of change. Autumn is the most popular season for that change. Inspired by the shades of nature, Sun bleached blondes turn to warm rich Caramel or hot chocolate brown. Brunettes become spicy cinammon or deep coffee and strawberry redheads deepen into dimensional copper or burgandy as we head into late fall and winter. Comfort colors.
With the economy still in a holding pattern, colorists are coming up with innovative ideas to keep haircolor maintenance low. The effects of dimensional haircolor is modern and only needs retouch every 8 to 10 weeks. If you are covering grey, stay close to your natural color at base to camouflage roots.
A balayage technique instead of foiling can add some dimension color that will look more natural as it grows out.
This 2009 fall season hairfashion is also inspired by the sculptural and defined hair cuts of the 60's. Remember Twiggy's short layered crop? These cuts are low maintenance and high fashion.
Ask your stylist for new ideas. The right style and color can make you look 5-10 years younger.
